Congrats From The Heart Card

This is the 3rd card I made this week as Card Captain of the enjoyMichaelStrongstamps Yahoo Group.
It has a simple and loving message - Congrats From The Heart.

Ingredients:
Leather textured cream CS for the card's basis
Patterned paper from my stash
White CS
Martha Stewart Large Punch around the Page - Double Arches set
Michael Strong's Cloisonné Heart stamp (large)
Embossing Ink
Gold EP
ProMarkers - I used Pastel Pink, Shale, Magenta and Cocoa
3D foam tape
A gold Congratulations rubon
Light rose blings in several sizes

I cut the patterned paper and punched its border using Martha Stewart Large Punch around the Page - Double Arches set (I used only the border punch here).
I stamped Michael Strong's Cloisonné Heart on white CS, heat embossed it with gold EP and colored it with ProMarkers.
I attached the stamped and colored white CS using 3D foam tape for extra dimension.
I added the gold Congratulations rubon.
I also added a few light rose blings in several sizes for extra glam.

Youval's Blue Birthday Card

This is the 2nd card I made this week as Card Captain of the enjoyMichaelStrongstamps Yahoo Group.
My youngest son, Youval, turned 15 a few days ago.
Now here's the challenge he gave me: he insisted I make him a blue card, the only other colors may be grey (it's silver, but he kindly agreed… lol) and a touch of white.
No patterned paper, no border punch, no embellishments, definitely no blings… you got the idea.
Oh boy, sometimes it's difficult to please a young man!
So I created a simple, minimalist card with no extra decoration on it.
Well, as long as he's happy and smiling, I'm happy too!

Ingredients:
Leather textured blue CS for the card's basis
Silver paper
Plain blue CS in a lighter shade of blue
White CS
EK Success Corner Adorner punch (medium)
Memento blue ink
Michael Strong's Cloisonné Accents stamp (I have it mounted - thanks, Mike!)
ProMarkers – I used Royal Blue and Azure
A silver Happy Birthday rubon

I cut the papers and rounded all their corners.
I stamped Michael Strong's Cloisonné Accents on white CS and colored it with ProMarkers.
Then I distressed the white CS using Memento blue ink to give it a dark, contrasting frame.
I attached the stamped and colored white CS 3D for extra dimension.
I added the silver Happy Birthday rubon.

Mother In Law Tongue Card

This is the 1st card I made this week as Card Captain of the enjoyMichaelStrongstamps Yahoo Group.
Similar to the card shown in Michael Strong's blog, here's my interpretation to his Mother In Law Tongue Card.
It's a simple yet elegant card which fits any occasion.

Ingredients:
Leather textured cream CS for the card's basis
Patterned beige paper
Chocolate brown CS
Dark green canvas textured CS
Ranger's Distress Ink - Pine Needle
Michael Strong's Cloisonné Pot stamp (large)
White EP
Coloring pencils - white and yellow
White half pearls

I distressed the patterned beige paper with Ranger's Distress Ink - Pine Needle, using a sponge dauber, to give it a dark, contrasting frame.
I stamped Michael Strong's Cloisonné Pot on chocolate brown CS, heat embossed it with white EP and cut it out using TH scissors, then I cut it into 2 separate parts to create 2 low containers.
I cut the leaves out of green CS and colored them with pencils, then scored and folded them.
I attached the leaves to both containers' back side, and glued both containers 3D for extra dimension.
I also attached white half pearls to add some glam.

Israeli Pioneers

This work was created for the next outdoor exhibition in Ramat Hasharon.
There's an outdoor gallery in Ramat Hasharon, with a new exhibition every couple of months.
A few dozen artists from Ramat Hasharon will participate in this outdoor exhibition. The subject is Following The Pioneers and my work is called Israeli Pioneers (or, in Hebrew, אנו באנו ארצה).

It's a mixed media collage on canvas.
I created this collage out of recycled geographic maps of Israel, all torn to pieces by hand.
I re-assembled the torn pieces into an imaginary map of my country.
The people representing the Israeli Pioneers were printed on a background made of the map, then cut using scissors and glued 3D for extra dimension.

In the middle of the work there's an urban center, which includes Ramat Hasharon itself.
As an homage to my 2 sons who are IDF soldiers, I included their military bases locations (which are confidential, of course).

The exhibition's opening will take place on Israel's Independence Day, May 10th 2011.

Time Small Chunky Book

Here's a small chunky book I made with friends a while ago.

The theme was TIME and my page showed how Time Flies.

I made 8 similar (but not identical) pages. . Each page is 10x10 cms (about 4x4 inches).I think this small chunky book turned out pretty cool.

The front side of the page I recycled advertisements papers and my son's notebooks front covers (after the school year was over).

I cut out all the motifs using scissors (I didn't have the Cuttlebug at that time), and stamped at the corners.
I distressed the page's edges using Ranger's Distress ink (Vintage Photo).
The watch was stamped on cream CS and partially covered with a thick transparent orange circle.

These circles were punched out using EK Success circle punch.

Both circles were connected (but not glued to each other) by a bead chain, which was inserted through the page so the circles are hanging on it.

The back side of the page I cut all the measurement tools and the watch parts using scissors, and glued the motifs 3D for extra dimension.

I stamped Tim's sentiment on a tag which was attached onto the same bead chain, inserted through the page on its back side, and distressed its edges using Ranger's Distress ink (Vintage Photo).

I added my personal details on the back side of the tag.
