Folded Card For June Card Challenge

I made this card for the Michael Strong's Yahoo group Folded Card challenge.

You can enlarge each photo by clicking on it.

The central flower was made of old book pages (a nice way to re-use them), punched out with a scalloped circle punch. Each petal was folded 4 times.

After folding all the petals I glued them to each other.

I stamped Michael Strong's Cloisonné Flower stamp with Stazon ink on a transparency sheet, and carefully cut it with nail scissors.

I attached the transparent flower to the folded flower with a flocked brad.

The whole flower was glued 3D for extra dimension.

To decorate the corners I added 2 pairs of flourish die cuts made of black textured CS.

Each one of them was set in an opposite direction to create a double-flourish corner embellishment, accented with a pearl.

The purple ribbon was inserted into a piece of black CS which was punched with a simple office binder.

I also used light blue CS, a patterned paper with script from my stash, and pearls all over.

Now go figure out how many folds there are in one flower…

Magnum Card For The Summer Vacation

It's my son's last summer vacation.
He's about to finish his final highschool exams (with excellent grades!) and will soon be drafted to the army.
I made him a Magnum ice cream pop card to wish him a cool vacation (well, it's very hot in Israel.)
I sent my kids to buy and eat Magnums so I can use the sticks, all in the name of art. They didn't complain at all...
Ingredients:
White, brown and kraft CS, brown Stazon ink (2 colors), VersaMark ink, TH Vintage Photo distress ink, clear EP, Cuttlebug bubbles embossing folder, Spellbinder Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Circles, a Magnum stick and a ribbon.
The stamp inside is Michael Strong's Cloisonné Circle, stamped and heat embossed with black EP. I left enough space inside for hand written wishes.
The flourishes on the back side and on the coordinating envelope are TH die cuts, distressed with ink and accented with a brown pen.
I glued the stick and the top part of the card 3D so it seems like a real ice cream pop. Looking from the side you can see the chocolate glazing.
Yummy... somebody already took a bite!

Bling It Pop Up Card

I made this pop up card for Michal's birthday. As she's the one who introduced Michael Strong's stamps to me, it seemed nice to make her a Michael Strong card.
I used red textured CS for the card and for stamping, a patterned paper from my stash, and black textured CS for the borders.
I used Michael Strong's Cloisonné Butterfly stamp and Cloisonné Flower stamps, large and small, stamped with black Stazon ink. The flowers and the butterfly were hand-cut with nail scissors.
Red and clear blings were added all over... take a look at the card from different angles to see this garden of flowers.

Baby Girl Mini Album

I made this mini album for my friend M. and left room so she can fit photos of her cute daughter into it.
This mini album is very sweet and girly, therefore it's very different from what I usually design.
Keeping in mind that it's meant for a cute 2 years old girl, I used K & Company's Sparkly Sweet 6x6 paper pad, distressing all the pages with happy, girly colored ink.
The embellishments are in similar colors.
I used Michael Strong's Cloisonné stamps (quite a few of them) with and without EP.
I added pearls and blings wherever possible (not too many, I hope…)
I used shaped buttons, thick felt shapes, paper die cuts, and silk flowers attached with brads and glued 3D.
Between the pages I left room for journaling, on thinner album pages with white papers decorated with border punches and distress ink.
The album pages were attached together with metal binding rings, decorated with ribbons.
On the front cover there's a pink metal gecko for good luck, hanging on the top binding ring.
I added a photo of the front cover in daylight (with a few more ribbons...) so you can see the colors more clearly.
Happy birthday, dear M.
I hope you'll like it… and what's coming with it. Stay tuned…

Square Gold Plated Bracelet

It's time I upload some of the jewelry I made. Here's an example to start with.
I made this square gold plated bracelet a few years ago.
It looks like an antique piece of jewelry, although I made it from scratch.
I made the bracelet as a free form, without any template (it has my fingerprints on it), and I gold-plated it myself.
It's 2'' wide - quite huge, actually - and it looks very impressive on my arm.

Paper Piecing On Canvas For Kids

I made these for my cute nephews and nieces, to match the colours and themes they like.
Paper Piecing on canvas (8x8)
I used acrylic paint, Basic Grey & other paper scraps and Stazon ink.
As you can see, this is one of my favorite techniques.
The Helicopter and the car patterns were designed by me.
