Happy New Year Card - Take Five

I made this card for my hubbie, with a special motif - the vine leaves and the grapes.
I wish him a year of Geffen (Geffen = vine, in Hebrew) which is an acronym of Gezunt, Parnusse and Naches, meaning Health, Prosperity and Pleasure from his family (in Yiddish).
The vine leaves were distressed with Stazon ink (Forest Green) and covered with a thick layer of papier glass finish for a 3D glazing. They were also glued 3D for extra dimension. The grapes are purple Dew Drops.
The purple background Canson paper has a pattern similar to a honeycomb. It is a Jewish tradition to eat honey on New Year's eve, hoping the new year will be as sweet as honey.
The edger punches are Martha Stewart's. The white CS was distressed with Ranger's ink (Dusty Concord). The green CS is canvas textured and the background paper with the pop-up butterflies is from a commercial booklet.
The sentiments say Shana Tova, meaning a happy new year in Hebrew.
I left enough space inside the card to write personal blessings for the new year.
I wish you all a happy new year, filled with joy, health and love!

Happy New Year Card - Take Four

I made this card for my son, who is a shooting instructor.
The empty rifle bullet (it's a real one!), the white pigeon and the olive tree branch are all symbols of peace.
The white pigeon and the olive tree branch were covered with a thick layer of papier glass finish for a 3D glazing. They were also glued 3D for extra dimension.
The pigeon has a black bling for an eye, and the brown circles are Dew Drops.
The ocher background Canson paper has a pattern similar to a honeycomb. It is a Jewish tradition to eat honey on New Year's eve, hoping the new year will be as sweet as honey.
The edger punches are Martha Stewart's.
The white CS was distressed with Ranger's ink (Vintage Photo).
The bright ocher paper is from a commercial envelope I re-used.
The sentiments say Shana Tova, meaning a happy new year in Hebrew.
I left enough space inside the card to write personal blessings for the new year.
I wish you all a quiet, peaceful year.

Happy New Year Card - Take Three

I made this card for my youngest son, who volunteers to serve as a first-aid helper (after taking an advanced course).
He likes going on an ambulance, especially when the siren is on. He insisted on an ambulance themed card rather than anything else.
The red background Canson paper has a pattern similar to a honeycomb. It is a Jewish tradition to eat honey on New Year's eve, hoping the new year will be as sweet as honey.
The edger punch is Martha Stewart's.
The white CS was distressed with Ranger's ink (Fired Brick) - I hope it looks like real blood... lol
The blue paper is from a commercial envelope I re-used.
The sentiments say Shana Tova, meaning a happy new year in Hebrew.
The ambulance and the sentiments were glued 3D for extra dimension.
I left enough space inside the card to write personal blessings for the new year.
I wish you all a relaxed and healthy year.

Happy New Year Card - Take Two

I made this card for my son, who is in a paramedics course.
I took a syringe and filled it with tiny candies which are usually used for cake decoration, as a symbol of a sweet and healthy year.
The blue background paper is Canson CS.
The edger punch is Martha Stewart's. The white CS was distressed with Ranger's ink (Broken China).
The sentiments say Shana Tova, meaning a happy new year in Hebrew.
I left enough space inside the card to write personal blessings for the new year.
I wish my son a very happy new year and good luck on his long journey, studying and practicing in order to become a life-saving professional.

Here's a card in bright colors, made with green and bright yellow CS, yellow and green PP from my stash, all distressed with Stazon ink, TH flourish and brads.
The main motif is a spirella with embroidery threads and the greeting says Shana Tova (Happy New Year in Hebrew), both were glued 3D for extra dimension.

One More Seahorse Card

Here's another card with my seahorse stamp, for someone who liked it (I'm not telling who…)
I used turquoise CS, cream CS embossed through the Cuttlebug and colored with Ranger's distress ink (China Blue), and the same cream CS border punched as a wave.
I used my new I.O. seahorse stamp. The stems were colored with a light green pen and the borders were distressed using Stazon ink.
The matting paper is light gold.
The seahorse was glued 3D for extra dimension.
I added clear blings, shiny and clear as cool water drops.

A little bird told me...

One colourful bird, two different techniques.

First I painted this bird - acrylic on canvas, 30x30 cms
Then I created a Paper Piecing pattern from my own painting, and made the same bird of papers

I wish you all a happy Passover, a holiday of freedom and signs of spring.
Enjoy your family gathering and the delicious food.
