This card was made for the Chinese New Year - the year of the rabbit, celebrated on February 3rd 2011.
Ingredients:
Red leather textured CS for the card's basis
Transparent vellum paper with Chinese text in gold and Chinese marks in dark red, carefully attached so the glue is hidden underneath it
Shiny gold paper, its corners punched using Martha Stewart Large Punch around the Page - Double Arches set (I used only the corner punch here)
Rabbit stamp by Comotion rubber stamps from my private collection (discontinued), stamped with black ink on red leather textured CS
Red half pearls, to add some glam.
Inside the card:
A small piece of red leather textured CS
Shiny gold paper, its upper border punched using Martha Stewart Large Punch around the Page - Double Arches set (I used only the border punch here)
Rabbit stamp by Comotion rubber stamps from my private collection (discontinued), stamped with black ink.
For the interlacing ribbon piece I used matt gold canvas textured CS
Both its edges were punched with EK Success Binding Edge Edger Punch.
Then I used a narrow red satin ribbon, interlacing it from one side to the other all the way down, and simply tying its ends.
This piece was glued 3D for extra dimension.
On the red envelope:
Rabbit stamp by Comotion rubber stamps from my private collection (discontinued), stamped with black ink
and there's a cream outer envelope for postal delivery.

Primary Colors Card

Here's a cheerful card with primary colors.
The central flower was made of folded patterned paper - the same pattern used for the background - punched out with a scalloped circle punch. Each petal was folded 4 times.
After folding all the petals I glued them to each other.
I stamped Michael Strong's Cloisonné Flower stamp with Stazon ink on textured red CS for the center, and on a piece of transparency (clear acetate sheet) separately, and carefully cut them with nail scissors.
The whole flower was glued 3D for extra dimension on bright yellow textured CS.
I also used red and white CS punched with Martha Stewart's border punch, and a few brads.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed. Have a creative day! Dorly

Bling It Pop Up Card

I made this pop up card for Michal's birthday. As she's the one who introduced Michael Strong's stamps to me, it seemed nice to make her a Michael Strong card.
I used red textured CS for the card and for stamping, a patterned paper from my stash, and black textured CS for the borders.
I used Michael Strong's Cloisonné Butterfly stamp and Cloisonné Flower stamps, large and small, stamped with black Stazon ink. The flowers and the butterfly were hand-cut with nail scissors.
Red and clear blings were added all over... take a look at the card from different angles to see this garden of flowers.
You can find a pop up card tutorial here

I Love Chocolate !

I made this card for the Michael Strong's Yahoo group Chocolate challenge.
It reminds me the story of Hansel and Gretel and their candy house.
Well, my house is entirely made of chocolate!
First I used Michael Strong's Cloisonné Paisley Set.
The roof tiles were made of small Paisleys stamped with Brilliance brown ink on light brown textured CS and hand-cut with nail scissors. Yes, I cut each and every one of them separately. They were adhered to a dark brown CS panel in rows, overlapping each other.
I used the background stamp from the Cloisonné Paisley Set on both sides of the door, which was attached to the main house panel with a piece of paper to enable the door to open.
The handle is made of a big brad, covered with brown corduroy.
The windows are small octagons, stamped with the small octagon stamp from the Cloisonné Octagons Set, and glued 3D for extra dimension.
Each M&M'S Chocolate Candy is a colorful brad.
Finally, I used a white gel pen for the faux stitches around the main house panel.
The matting is made of red textured CS.
People who know me already take me for a chocoholic.
This card seems like it's made of pure chocolate, it makes me want to take a bite…

A Bouquet Of Flowers

I made this card for someone I love. The colours remind me of Christmas, but flowers are always fun to get.

The Pot and the flowers were glued 3D to give the card extra dimension.
I used red CS, pearly green textured CS, Michael Strong's Cloisonné Pot rubber stamp - heat embossed with white embossing powder over chocolate brown CS, brown and white papers die cut in the Cuttlebug, and green paper for the leaves cut freely with scissors. Then I added red silk flowers with tiny square green brads and a few clear blings at the corners. I used a white gel pen for the faux stitches.

And I won...

I participated the Red challenge at the Michael Strong Yahoo group - and I won...
Three cards were selected by Mike, and there's a swell prize for the winners, too :-)
Here's what Michael Strong wrote about my card:
Dorly's entry is one of many using the MSRS Cloisonne Heart. Her composition is distinguished by well utilized embellishments. I like the simple text, corner brads and flower accent which compliments the main elements of the overlapping hearts. Well done Dorly!
Thank you, Mike. You're inspiring me.

Red is for LOVE

I made this card for the Michael Strong Yahoo group Red challenge.
The card should be 90% red. That's easy, red being my favorite colour.
The flowers and the hearts were glued 3D to give the card extra dimension.
You can see a closeup of the hearts and the blings - I used tweezers for the tiny red blings.

I used Basic Grey Boxer paper on red CS, silk flowers with a red bling brad over a red ribbon,
Michael Strong's Cloisonne Heart rubber stamp, embossed with burgundy embossing powder,
and Basic Grey bling it - red & clear.
The R E D metal letters are hanging loose on red mini brads.

Can anything be more red than this?
Now guess who's getting this card filled with love...
